from the earth we came... Installation Shots & Postcard Set

Design Event 07 is now over but from the earth we came... continues to make an impact across Newcastle and Gateshead. GNER have kindly allowed Steven's installation at the front of Newcastle station to remain indefinitely. Silverlink have also allowed Lucy's work on Forth Street to stay. Gateshead Council and Network Rail have plans for the archway in Gateshead but until that development is realised, Lucy's work will remain there too.

Daisy's work is archived online, and can be seen on her pages installed in many shops and businesses along High Bridge, at the Carling Academy and Newcastle Arts Centre. Many thanks to all the businesses who supported the project by hosting Daisy's work.

A packaged postcard set, complete with stickers, pin badges and postcards of the installations, will be available soon.
If you would like to receive your from the earth we came... package FREE, drop us a line at info@fromtheearthwecame.com

View Steven, Lucy and Daisy's pages for brand new installation shots from High Bridge, Forth Banks, Central Station, Gateshead, Pink Lane and more.

from the earth we came... Artist updates!

Daisy de Villeneuve's gargoyles are now staring down along High Bridge, with many of the buildings embellished with this new decorative head.
True to Daisy's style, these heads are reproduced in dazzling bright colours.

Steven Wilson's work takes shape in the old Red Star Parcel Office at the front of Newcastle Station. Plants and trees curl over the surfaces, with birds and butterflies perching on the branches. Each day a little more grows and the vivid green installation catches the eyes of hundreds of passers by.

from the earth we came... has started to grow

Lucy McLauchlan has spent the last two days painting an unassuming building at the end of Forth Street. Delicate white leaves trail up the wall, with dark eyes starting out. Even the native plants have had a lick of paint.

Friendly folks have been stopping to say hello and even Newcastle Council's environmental services paid a visit, just checking that it was art. They clean off graffiti very quickly so we reassured them it definitely, beyond any doubt, was art. Next stop Gateshead...

Steven Wilson has begun installing his botanically inspired vinyl in the old Red Star parcel office at the front of Newcastle Station. The platform projects crew spent last week scrubbing several years of dust and dirt away. Freshly gleaming, nature is taking over the space with a few birds making appearances too.

We'll be continuing the install for the next few days ready for the launch on Friday so if you're in Newcastle or Gateshead, pop over and say hello...
